The browser!
How good is the browser on this phone!?
It's so good it deserves a name, rather than just 'the browser'. Since multi touch has been enabled I have been loving it. It has a different approach from safari. The pinch to zoom only zooms, as opposed to the iPhone which corrects the text when you pinch. The Nexus style is better because it allows you to get in closer for copying text. Double tapping to zoom and correct text works very very well. So, you double tap to read, zoom to get details in pictures. Much better than safari. The windows, download manager, history and bookmarks are great too! So, I don't use Dolphin anymore, do you? Last edited by gregornz; 02-05-2010 at 11:02 PM. |

Why are these the only options?
I mainly use xScope. MT P2Z and also Pin-zoom FTW.

"MT P2Z and also Pin-zoom FTW." = Multi-touch pinch-to-zoom and Pin-Zoom for the win.
xScope has both MT and it's own proprietary zoom mechanic, "pin-zoom". I still use dolphin on occasion, but I surf quickly through most sites, and xScope handles that a bit better through quick open tabs. (Hold down on link vs. Dolphins Hold -> Link -> Menu -> Open in new tab) I've used the stock browser a bit to test thing out on it and it seems to be a really good browser - it definitely handles P2Z surprisingly well IMO. Give it a true tab system and I may have considered using it exclusively.

my preference is dolphin. I dunno the stock browser runs too fast, hard too control. dolphin has a smoother interface on my n1. plus it sorts the bookmarks into categories (labels) and I like the use of customized gestures. the top menu on xscope are too tiny for my fatty fingers.

i havent used any browser but dolphin and the default browser (before it got MT) but i am continuing with dolphin, even thought this new update made it ugly looking.. I have really start to dig the gestures and you cant beat the tabs/double click to hide tabs. its also pretty smooth and fast..

I liked the multi-touch for the stock browser, but I use only Dolphin.
As much as I tried to love the stock browser, being able to "flick" windows, and the ease of holding to select text/images/links is SO much easier in Dolphin. On the stock browser, you have to press the menu button, then navigate to whatever you need to do. Xscope is just too basic of a UI for me to use.
