Google Talk: How do I change ID?
I received my N1 yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out how this phone works.
I tried to set up the account using my google apps domain account (me@mydomain.com), but it wouldn't let me do it. Then I used my gmail account, which works fine. Next, I added my domain account, which works and I'm syncing my contacts through that account. Now google talk is registered with my gmail account and not my domain account. How do I change google talk to my domain account? That's where all my buddies are. |

I've only seen people with googlemail.com or gmail.com being able to use gtalk.

This is singularly the most irritating issue with Android/N1. The Google account locks you in and it's very, very annoying. It takes away all kinds of flexibility.
I do appreciate that some functions may NEED a Gmail account to work, but come on... I can't even change my Maps/Latitude account name on Android. At least the Nokia/Symbian/S60 version let me log into Latitude as I wished. Also - once set, to remove that annoying default googlemail.com account requires a full reset, losing all settings, installed apps, etc. This is truly bad. ------------------------------------------ A gun in the trash is better than a gun in the hand |
