Question about car charger
I just ordered one of these car mounts:
Car Charger+ Mount Kit Holder for Google Nexus One HTC - eBay (item 230431336661 end time Mar-02-10 01:59:15 PST) and apparently it comes with a micro USB charger. Now I know that using a sub-1000 mA charger will not charge the battery as fast, but that's alright with me. What I'm wondering is if the charger plays any role in protecting the battery from potential damage, say, due to overcharging. Or is the current regulation performed in the phone circuitry itself? In other words, is the charger's only function to provide a relatively stable 5V output? (which I'm assuming any cheapo one can do quite well!) |

Yes, the charger only provides the charge. The battery regulates overcharging.
