Does rooting your phone mean you need a different MicroSD Card?

Yes. I know you need to get a Class 4 or Class 6 SD card with at least 8 Gigs on it. I'm just wondering which brand would be the best...

Why do you think you need a different one if you root?

If you want Apps to run off your SD then you need a fast SD Card.

Not to mention that everything I've read about Rooting Says you should use a Fast SD Card with at least 8 Gigs

Ah, I see. Your original post implied that you needed a different card for root. I use a 16GB one but I haven't a clue what speed it runs at.

Hey SliceBurgSlim, can you keep us updated on your experiences rooting your N1? I'm really interested in this and would love to see a forum post/tutorial of some sort stickied threads up in here for info on how to do it and what to look out for (like this SD card issue you mentioned, I just learned something new!).

Where are you finding the best info to prep for your root?

Thanks for your help and for your post!

transcend class 6 are really nice, make sure to get a class 6 for speed, but the N1 should be so fast it shouldnt matter too much.

As for how to root, id recommend sticking to reading xda-developers.com for answering questions because thats where the rom makers post anyways.

No problem Yo I'm still trying to decide what SD card to use. I also saw some info that stated that the New Cyanogen Rom for the N1 does not yet have Apps2SD in it yet. So I will Probably wait for that before I take the Jump to Root.
