synch contacts, duplication

synch contacts, duplication
i cant seem to synch my conatcs .. the cell earses all new contacts when i try to synch it with the gmail contacs..and the gmail contacts meanwhile has duplicated most of my contacsts list and when i try 'find and merge duplicates' it says 'contact data too large' anyone from nexus listneing???
