Hi I'm a New Member

I'm not used to Forums so this is a new experience for me. I have an N1 with tmo and love it. Anxiously waiting for 2.2 My big question is using the N1 in Europe. What carriers should I look for in France, Belgium and Netherlands. The sim cards I have found on the web seem very expensive if data is included.

Welcome Peter! Hope some folks 'across the pond' can answer your European questions, but it doesn't surprise me the data is expensive there...the plans seem to be a different form of 'unlimited'...meaning it's actually quite limited. Keep asking questions here and elsewhere until you get answers!

$100 per day

I spoke today with T Mobile and learned a little.

They offer no international data plans at all.
Voice and text but no data.

He also reminded me to set my phone to NOT ALLOW
data roaming. 'The Nexus One can use tons of data in
the background, some customers have been charged $100
per day when they return home'.

Basic stuff but well worth remembering!

Buy a local SIM card, it will give you a French (or whatever) phone
number you can be reached on as well as affordable call home.
(but no data)

Tell us how it worked out for you.
